our mission

The reNEWed Festival brings together people who work with repurposed, reused, and salvaged materials in a variety of ways. The Festival aims to educate and inspire in the creative reuse and repair of everyday items as a celebration of resilience and sustainability and to spark movement towards mitigating environmental challenges, climate change and consumer culture. 

Our objective is to create and host an annual, rural based Festival that demonstrates and encourages creative repurposing and repairing; supports and empowers through teaching basic repair skills; and that nurtures and builds community through skill sharing and intergenerational knowledge transfer. 

During the festival …

  • artist demos

    Try out a mini ‘skill sampler workshop’ alongside artists as they demonstrate how they use salvaged or reclaimed materials in the creation of new artworks.

  • get it fixed or mended

    Menders and fixers work with the public to fix their household items or mend their clothing. 

  • learn new skills

    Learn new skills and try out basic techniques and methods, alongside the experts.

  • mini trade fair

    Connect with businesses who create new products from repurposed or recycled materials at our mini trade fair.

  • inspired education

    Learn from local organizations working to build resilience and sustainability through repair and reuse.

  • mend:able exhibit

    Showcase your “best” repairs, mends or fixes in our Mend:Able Exhibit.
